2013.6.7 Happiness Project

There is endless “good” advice out there, but sorting through and knowing which to apply to our individual lives is an extra challenge.  Several years ago, I read The Happiness Project and walked away with one of the best everyday skills.  Each night, no matter how tired I am, I take 10 minutes to quickly tidy the house, prep the backpacks, sports bags, and special projects, take out garbage, throw a load of laundry in, or some combination, so that when we wake each morning, there is some semblance of organization and not total and utter chaos.  Consider as our kids get older to enlist them in a few simple tasks before bed, too (e.g., setting out clothes for the next day).  As with all advice, the giver is giving the best version of themselves, but this time, I promise it decreases chaos!
